Description

The Shield wetsuit is purpose-built for foiling – combining impact protection with lightweight warmth and mobility. Designed with 3mm NaturePrene2® at the body and 2mm in the arms and legs, it delivers comfort and flexibility for milder conditions without compromising durability.

Zodiac Jacquard velvet fleece paired with quick-dry thermal lining creates a warm, dry interior – absorbing moisture quickly and releasing it fast between sessions. The FSC-certified NaturePrene2® build is 100% neoprene-free – sustainable, lightweight and stretchable.

The Free-X asymmetrical front-zip system ensures a wide entry for easy changing – one side fixed, the other open – with the zipper runner closing at the top to reduce flushing. With a seamless back panel, paddling and movement remain unrestricted.

Shield zones reinforce high-impact areas – padded shoulder with Fluid neoprene and memory foam, abrasion-resistant underarms, armored KED kneepads and a toughened shinbone layer for foil protection. Triple-glued and blind-stitched seams (GBS) finish the build – strong, watertight and flexible enough to handle demanding conditions.

Airflex 550+

AirFlex neoprene is crafted from limestone neoprene, and by adjusting the formula of the foaming agents, we can control the stretch in the raw material. Laminating with different backings determines the final flex of the panels, ensuring optimal performance for various needs.

Features

GBS Seams

Triple glued panels are stitched together with a special stitching method. Partially puncturing the neoprene to keep the water tightness of the wetsuit seam. Each thread is protected by a tape at the end. Our perfect finish makes our glued and blind stitched wetsuit indestructible. Precise seam and material placement for a tailored fit. Designed to fit your body without over-stretching the neoprene, which prevents stretched out thin neoprene and loss of thermal insulation.

Features

Zodiac 2 with Velvet Airflex

Zodic Jacquard velvet fleece on the inside, layered with a quick dry thermal fleece for more warmth and comfort. It absorbs the water from the skin, releases quickly and increases comfort. Velvet Airflex is softer than ever before, more stretch, comfortable feel and quickdry. Another milestone in wetsuit technology. Clearly recognizable because of the feel… smooth as velvet.

NaturePrene2®

100% neoprene free

This is a revolutionary moment in wetsuit industry. From now on all our wetsuits will be 100% neoprene free and FSC and CE approved.

NaturePrene2® is a biobased rubber derived from FSC-certified rubber trees. With NaturePrene2®, you'll enjoy the same stretch, warmth, insulation, and durability as our current lineup, all without compromising on cost.

dive into the future of wetsuits

100% Neoprene Free Material

From Petrol chemicals base to Limestone neoprene (mining mountains) to NaturePrene and now introducing NaturePrene 2 completely made with Natural Rubber harvested from FSC certified rubber tree plantations. USDA-certified and 80% natural rubber, 20% recycled carbon black and enriched with Oystershell powder and Soybean oil.

Water Based Glue

The laminated neoprene sheets are cut into panels and put together to create a neoprene product such as a wetsuit. The lamination of all our wetsuits is done with water based glue, so called aqua-a. Unlike the traditional glue, the water based glue is solvent free and without chemicals (it removes 99% of the impurities). This avoids latex allergies. Don’t worry! Of course the glue will not dissolve in water. We made sure that the glue is as strong as the traditional glue.

PAH, ROHS AND REACH COMPLIANT

Our wetsuits are PAH (Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons) free and 100% reach compliant. Reach compliant means we have achieved to ban the use of extender oils in our neoprene sheets for a better znvironment. REACH is a
regulation of the European Union, adopted to improve the  protection of human health and the environment from risks that can be posed by chemicals in the production process.

The PAH neutral neoprene has improved characteristics such as weight and stretch, and it also prevents skin irritation. We banned the use of extender oils in our neoprene which is better for your skin and nature.

DOPE DYED YARNS

Before lamination we need to prepare lining fabrics. Prolimit uses the dope-dyeing process. This means that we don’t dye the fabric in our production process anymore. The traditional way of coloring has a high water consumption, using a lot of energy and producing a large amount of industrial waste water and toxic chemicals. Instead of the traditional and common way, we use the method of dope dyed yarns. Dope dyeing is an energy saving and a more environmental-friendly

method. Dope dyed yarns are made by adding colorant to the polymer melt in spinning. In short, we add the color before spinning. With this procedure in which we color the yarn without the dyeing process, we save 104L of water per kg of fabric. The advantages of dope dyeing are in line with our goal to produce products with respect for our planet.

FSC Certified

The Forest Stewardship Council monitors and confirms that specific forest areas are being managed inline with the FSC principles and criteria.

Soybean Oil

One of the components to create NaturePrene2, the Soybean oil is edible oil extracted from  soybean seeds. This is a 100% plantbased oil.

OYSTER SHELL POWDER

Harvested from scrap oystershell washed ashore the powder is an important enriching component for the blend in our Nature-Prene 2 rubber.

Eco Carbon Black

Carbon Black is a key ingredient to produce neoprene. Our eco carbon black is made from recycled tires. The tires are shredded and thereafter transformed into powdered carbon black. Unlike the traditional carbon black,
this method reduces the energy consumption and the CO2 emission by 200g per wetsuit.
