Stijn Mul

The Netherlands

I’m a passionate kitesurfer from the Netherlands, living the dream life split between Amsterdam and wherever the wind decides to take me.

As a professional athlete, I’m sponsored by Prolimit, and I compete at national and international kite events. But my life goes beyond just competing, I’m all about pushing the sport forward.

I’m also the founder of SpaceX Kitesurfing, a creative team and media company that produces content, partners with leading brands, and brings kitesurfing to a wider audience. Through SpaceX, I organize events like Race 2 Space for amateurs and NK Big Air for the pros — both designed to grow the scene and celebrate the community.

Together with Surfr, I’m building The Wind Games, a new platform that lets riders challenge each other online and enables organizers to run their own digital kite events.

My mission? To make kitesurfing more visible, more accessible, and to show the world how much fun this lifestyle really is, because for me, it’s not just a sport, it’s a way of life."

Proud of milestones

As both a kitesurf athlete and an entrepreneur, I’m proud of how far I’ve come — from chasing wind and waves around the world to building projects that move the sport forward.

Kitesurfing has given me everything: freedom, creativity, and a community that feels like family. What started as pure passion has turned into a career where I get to compete, create, and connect people through the sport I love.

I’m proud not only to represent my sponsors on the water, but also to build platforms, events, and opportunities that make kitesurfing more visible and accessible for everyone. For me, it’s not just about riding — it’s about inspiring others to catch that same wind.

Ultimate goals

I would love to be able to sponsor young athlete too. Guide them and help them become an professional athlete too

Other hobby's

On days without wind, I usually spend most of my time behind the computer — editing content, working on new ideas, planning upcoming projects, and having meetings. Basically, it’s like a normal job… just one that keeps the stoke alive for when the wind returns. Besides that I work in the gym to prepare my body before chasing another storm and have enough time together with my friends from Holland
